This is the first time I have ever had to drill out a bolt. It has been sprayed every day for over two weeks now, and there was enough bolt sticking out the bottom to get vise grips on, but no go. I don't have access to a torch right now, and it seems a shame to go buy one just for a couple stuck bolts. I sliced a cut in the bolt and tried using a manual impact driver and an electric impact driver. Nothing. Not either way. I don't care if it goes clockwise or counter, because I have access to both sides. So, this is the first time I have resorted to drilling, and the hole is now large enough so that if I use a larger drill, I think I will drill out the treads, but I still want to use the threads. How do I remove the remainder without drilling and ruining the threads on my part? I am thinking of using a chisel and trying to break up the rest of the bolt. Any suggestions?
