Continue to drill it out, use number and/or letter drills to sneak up to till you can see the female threads, get a dental pick or whatever you use to remove "O"rings. pick at the thread till a section like a spring emerges and slowly continue to remove it.
If you have the correct left hand drill, when it gets close it might grab it and remove it from the hole
