Wow that’s about what I would expect.

I have new wires. New coil.
New pertronix ignition system.

The motor has 60 lbs oil pressure but that’s condition of the main bearings.. your right, I need to check compression. Who knows. This truck sat for MANY years so rings could be stuck.

I’d associate a worn engine with poor performance but would gas mileage suffer too?

I’m not familiar with governors. Do they rob power/gas mileage when they aren’t working correctly?

I’m just picking at anything to see if there is a solution to get better mileage without rebuilding an engine!!
