I am working through some electrical problems in my instrument cluster and have been studying the wiring diagram. I am looking for a legend or component cross reference for the identification on the wire next to the gauge and color.
For example, the wire that runs from the foot dimmer switch to the high beam indicator in the instrument cluster is labeled F2A 16OR. The '16OR' refers to 16-gauge orange colored wire but I don't know what the F2A stands for and can't find any references to this in the service manual.
Other examples of wire labels include: V6, D14, L, L10, J18A, S1, T10, R6, O, B16A, L7B H10 etc. I suspect the letter probably refers to the component (i.e. H10 for Horn, O for Oil) but all letters aren’t this obvious nor does it explain the number.
Can anyone point me to a reference where I can cross reference these codes.
Thx,
Mark
