I'm getting ready to install the bed wood on my 6x6. I've read a lot about what to use to preserve the wood, and nothing seems to do the job other than paint, which I'd rather not do. I bought some real nice white oak and I would like to be able to see the grain. This truck is not going to be a Garage Queen, so the wood is going to be used and may need to be touched up regularly. I'm considering using a satin automotive clear coat on the wood, but I don't want touch up to be a big deal. Has anyone used linseed oil with success, or some other product? I don't mind treating it regularly, but I suspect I'll need to treat the underside of the wood as well so it doesn't cup over time. Your thoughts greatly appreciated.
