Tire Question

i went to the co-op today to look at their tires. Tread looks really nice on them but heres my problem. They are in sizes such as 700x15. I know the 15 is a 15 inch rim but could someone explain the rest to me. Lookin for an auxilary set of tire and rims for my little import 4x4
