help 67 W300 with 4.88s TOO SLOW

What can I do to get more speed out of this work horse? Should I put 5.88s in it ? Any idea on how much for the gears? Is it worth it . Top speed is now about 45-50mph. How much more will I get out of it. Its a 318 v8 with dana 70s. Any Ideas?
