Ray at Helitool was "cruzin" at 80 MPH and 3200 RPM in a 318 CID powered Flat fender (I don't really like the expression either but I don't recall the model)with 4;89 gears.
When I look at this picture I see 2 trucks, the one I just mentioned and the 67 W300 we are talking about, with the 67 maybe being a little heaver.Same engine ,same gearing (I looked at and drove a 1963 W300 I was thinking of buying it was HUGE.)
But 45-50 VS. 80 MPG is a big difference I would suggest the fellow do a compression check. I would bet his engine is basicly SHOT.
