Perhaps you could confirm a rumor I've heard, that the biggest motor homes, despite being over 26,000 GVW do not require a CDL to drive and do not have to stop at the scales. My one experience with arguing about that sort of thing was getting flagged into a rarely-open scale shack in my M35, which was fortunately empty, and having a long talk with the man about where the GVWR plate is on an army truck and whether 3 axles automatically makes it a commercial vehicle. Eventually, as the line of trucks backed up onto the highway, he told me to get out of there, but concluded with "If I ever catch you at 26,001 lbs I'm going to throw the book at you." Fortunately I didn't meet him on the subsequent trip when I was at 33,000 and blew the transmission.
