I'm getting ready to have a 230 block out of a 1947 WDX rebuilt and modified a bit (bored, balanced, mild cam). I'm looking to use a high-compression head. According to the Model Year Detail - Notable Changes, Dodge increased the compression ratio in 53, 54, and 55, ending at 7.6:1.
John S. has these three heads. The top is a 218 head with casting number beginning 167. The middle head is out of a 1955 with casting number also beginning with 167. The bottom head is out of a 55 with casting number beginning 112. We also have another beginning with 116.
Wondering which of these heads are considered high-compression head. See next photo.
