Anyone have experience with hydroboost

Mine does not feel right. Super hard and the pedal comes back slowly.
I disconnected the return line and the pedal still returns slowly, instead of a small amount of fluid coming out , lot of fluid gushes out from this line after the pedal is released.
Not sure what the problem is and I hate sending stuff off to be serviced when it is something simple.
