Jack ... the HVLP guns work really good. The difference between them and conventional guns is that they work with much less air pressure thereby cutting down on the amount of material that is just shot into the air, they also are much lighter even when the cup is filled. I've used expensive guns and cheap ones and can't see any difference in their performance. Good luck on your painting experiance.. Dean
