HVLP conversion guns?

I am thinking about buying an HVLP conversion spray gun since I already have a compressor and don't have extensive need for a complete HVLP system.

All of the spray gun manufacturers now have conversion guns for sale and many claims are made about their superior performance when compared to a conventional spray gun.

Does anyone on the forum have direct experience using on of these conversion guns?

Yes, I am planning on painting my 48 by myself.
