My guess is he's not looking to auction his truck and pay the fees. He wants free advertising hoping that someone will approach him as a result of the Ebay listing and offer him something he thinks is reasonable.

Offer him $150,000 on the side. I bet he takes it :) Or, maybe, he's just crazy and thinks the truck is worth $175,000.
