I have no problem at a regular auto auction where reserve prices on collector cars are allowed, when the reserve has not been met, & the auction uses their own bidders to try to raise the bidding to an amount in which the owner will let the car sell. I do not, however, agree with any auction company or owner bidding on a no reserve auction & that includes almost every Barret Jackson consignment.
That also includes Ebay no reserve auctions.
On Ebay, if someone has a reserve price...I could care less if the owner bids because until the reserve price has been met, I have zero interest in the auction. The only chance I'd ever be interested or bid is once the reserve had been met & since once I see the phrase, "Reserve Not Met", I don't bother even following the auction & so it's really a detergent for many bidders.
Shill away I say...it won't help anyway.
