What color should the bearing surface be?

Spent too much time today reading up on engine rebuilding, and I read a couple of references of "down to the copper" in references to bearing wear. My bearing looks to be all copper? Looks like a worn penny?

Is this worn out (mostly curious, but it might make me feel better if it was gone?).
