Hand Throttle?

The hand throttle in my 55 FFPW is just a smooth push/pull cable. It does not have any way to "set" the throttle. I am required to hold it in position if I want to use it. Is this normal?

I have no reason to believe that this was replaced somewhere along the way, other than the fact that it cannot be "set".

I see one on ebay now that has serrations on it to set it, but it looks to be missing the spring part that I see in the parts book.

Would this be correct for my 55?

Were these the same for all FFPW's?
