Thank you! the engine was rebuilt in the 90's. It smokes just a little bit when it first starts but clears up quickly. Now this heat riser...can you explain what this is in a nutshell? I have noticed the thing below the intake that has a valve similar to that of a choke. I noticed it had some plumbing to it as well. How does this mechanism work?
