Well I used a clutch trueing tool to stick into the shaft in rear of engine. I must kinda assume the tool was not perfectly centered, but in hind site I did not check. This is the original bell housing to the motor, with the original bolts. I saw no shims on removal. Engine is rebuilt so no play in shaft at this time. Dodge truck L series shop manual instructed me to test for concentricity. Clutch page two figure no. 5.
Everything is pretty clean prior to assembly. Didn't chase the bolt holes, but bolts went in easily enough with finger pressure, so they were clean too.
I can't tell if anyone ever took bell housing off engine before me. Obviously engine had a top end done and painted ugly blue. Everything else has remnants of original red paint.
Do most of you guys not check this measurement when re assembling? Mabey I'm getting overly detailed...
