I got a set of the right ones 35 years ago. Ever since, I use whatever wire sets I find, and custom fit them. Pry open the ends, shorten and re-crimp.
Good sets have 2 piece ends. A steel rolled tube, and a separate spring clip that 'snaps' onto the plug.
The proper crimpers roll both ends of the steel tube into the wire for a solid grip.
Big wires won't fit into the old caps.
Coil end needs larger boot diameter, not the same as a dist cap end.
Anything besides red or black is lipstick on a pig. And so is metallic paint, in my book. ;^)
