Back in the 70's GM had problems with Vapor Lock on Corvettes and some other cars due to extremely high under hood temperatures. This was eliminated with the advent of EFI systems.
However, GM answer was to use a fuel filter right at the carb with a fuel/vapor return line to the tank. The return line had a very small restriction so only a small amount of fuel/vapor would return to the tank. This eliminated vapor and always kept cool fuel right at the carb. Of course this would require a fuel/vapor return line to be run back to the tank.
This is a question....not a suggestion.
Would this eliminate vapor lock on our engines for those who live in very hot areas.
All my C3 Corvettes had this return line and I never had a vapor lock issue. And under the hood of a Corvette is wickedly hot.
Just a thought, lets hear your thoughts.
