Multi fuel vehicles

Ok so it's not as cool as my PW but I have a friend who has a 6x6 that has a multi fuel engine. Although it is recommended that these be ran on diesal he was considering trying gasoline as it is much cheaper these days. Anyone have an opinion on this??
