W100 Temp Gauge problem.

The engine runs around 200 but the temp gauge rises quickly and holds right at the hot line in the gauge. I replaced the sending unit with same results. Do they us a voltage regulator for the gauge. The rest of the gauges work fine. Thanks Bill.
