Wayne, I think some years have the voltage limiter internal to the fuel gauge and other years have it outside the gauge. From what I understand, if the fuel gauge has 3 wires to it, then the limiter is internal. Ask over on the Sweptline.org website. I know this is a common problem. Usually there is an issue with both the fuel and temp gauges when the limiter is bad but not always. Lots of posts on the subject at the Sweptline forum.
