Thanks to Will for the post on his swap with a V8 in his M37. I'm wanting to jumpstart my swap on the '50 of mine (WM300), but what I really need to know is what it would take to put a '61-68 short-shaft NP435 behind my 230 for now, before the 360 install later on. Does it just bolt up like the up-to original transmission? Do I need a NP420/NP435 bellhousing? Are they different? Flywheel? Starter? Yokes? Shafts? Levers? I'd figure someone has done the swap before, but I can't find any information on it. There's a '68 nearby that has a NP420 in it, but no engine. I seriously, seriously doubt I could talk the owner out of it (he's OUTRAGEOUS on his prices for things, to the tune of double-plus what anyone else is asking). There are no other trucks around this area, so my on-hand parts availability is nil.
Can anyone help me here?
