i put a 420 in my wdx, that came out of a later model wm that i got from my mechanic who was an m37 nut, the guts are the same but the housing were diff. as i recall
i still have my np540 od but it would have to be mated somehow, i am sticking with the crashbox for now
as you say the wc may have the same bolt pattern as the m37 which is strange as apparently the wdx did not, but it had a crash box in it or i maybe confused again
or maybe i used a late model bell housing with the 420------senility
