I am confused, as always but a bit more so on this subject.
I have been informed or misinformed? that when rebuilding a truck it is best to refrain from using the ampmeter, and put in a volt meter. is this correct? or has the community just blowing smoke and grasping at straws?

I am rebuilding a 1966 WM300, and was going to go with an aftermarket volt meter, but after reading these remarks I am lost. what gives! and can anybody give a straight answer to this problem of amp vs volt meters? Which is better I don't want my truck to go up in flames!
