Starting problem with 1975 dodge power wagon 3/4 ton pickup

When I turn the key over the truck will not start. But sometimes just as I let the key out of the "start" position it fires up... I've replaced the starter switch. There is no spark when you turn it over.. Only seems to be there you let off the starter switch. Any ideas?
