BP Oil Well

O/T, Looking at the pics of them trying to cut the riser pipe and the saw jams. Just wondering; If they can operate a saw remotely, why not an impact wrench? The cut is just above a bolt on weld-neck flange. Remove the nuts and bolts and go from there with a flanged valve. I must be missing something. They sure have a mess.
