Some people just don't like split ring rims. There are some Good reasons for this and most get scared by the "Horror" stories they have heard. Times progress not everything stays the same as the Good Ol' Days.
If they were the next best thing, then why did they stop making them in the first place?? Why did they move on to something safer, easier to work on by "Any" tire shop?? Why?? Don't they still sell new trucks with split ring rims??
If I had to venture a guess though,, I doubt his truck is a 1907 or a 2007, in fact I don't think he typed enough 7's some people make mistakes when typing (I sure do) I would be willing to bet his truck is either a 1957, 1967, or 1977 since he did say it was a "Dodge Power wagon 3/4 ton" and we both know they didn't have 3/4 ton Power Wagons in 1907, 1917, 1927, 1937, 1947, 1987, 1997, and they didn't make 3/4 ton Power Wagons in 2007 with split ring rims.
Enough 7's for you yet??
It might be a 1807, 1817, 1827, 1837, 1847, 1857, 1867, 1877, 1887, 1897, ever more Rare 1777 Dodge Power wagon 3/4 ton.
