I think it's a sign that I should at least keep a rope and some leather gloves in the bucket, not that I'd relish climbing down. There's probably a reason the utility guys don't work alone. As I discovered, without hydraulic pressure, the rams stay put regardless of the valve setting. I was hoping I could at least let myself down slowly.
