What is a Dodge SPITFIRE engine?

Does anyone have any information on a Dodge SPITFIRE engine.I have one in a 1/2 ton WC series Dodge.It is a runner.I know it is not origional to the truck.I was thinking of selling it and changing the truck back to the origional engine.Does anyone know what that engine is for and what it would be worth in running condition?
