Maybe you are confusing Spitfire with that other fighter, the Hurricane? But I didn't know Jeep ever built airplanes.

Jeep built engines named Hurricane, Tornado, Typhoon, Blizzerd, Sleet, Chance of Showers, and in partnership with PETA, Raining Cats and Dogs. ;)
