I disagree! The butterfly in the 230 manifold is as restrictive as the one in the 318. The Power Wagon 230 manifold heat riser has 2 settings, summer and winter. It is supposed to be set it and forget it. Except it is most likely frozen in place when you go to set it. I have seen them frozen in both open or closed positions.
I am not planning on driving around with the riser closer, just close it when I start and shut it after a minute or 2. Mainly I just feel that the factory setup was poor, at least this will keep it free.
I dont like automatic chokes either!
