the term refers to the overbore ie bored out
5/16" over stock
popular "hot rod" ford flatheads overbores were 5/16, 3/8, and 1/2 (required sleeves)
popular strokes were 3/8 & 1/2
most popular combos were 3/8x3/8 or 3/8x1/2
or 1/2x1/2
some engines were also destroked for high
rev "hard top racers"
long long time ago in the 50's & 60's when
cars were fun.
my 33 was a two door sedan neat machine
