Both halves employ conical holes which increase the strength of purchase as the rivet cools.
how do I know?
I got paid to weld a few rivets in place, then saw thru the complete joint and polish and then develope the surface so a engineering genius could do a presentation.
I also scored some rivet reamers out of the deal.
