They don`t call it commercial here anymore. It is class 1,2,3,4,5, or a.b.c.d etc. In Alberta one can drive a SINGLE axel tractor on air with a class 5 (normal drivers licence) with an AIR endorsement & pull a trailer WITHOUT air brakes. If the trailer has air then a class 1 is required & a class 3 for a tandem. Some folks think you can pump up air brakes like hydralic. Of course that ain`t gunna happen, therefore the endorsement.
