Ok I think I see the problem....

Have you measured the width of your rear axle?

Measure it from where the rim hits the drum, and share those measurements, then maybe someone out there with a single rear wheel 1961-68 W300 will measure the same thing for you and you can compare. I always thought the single rear wheel D300s got the same rear axle as the single rear wheel W300 like Aaron's old truck there.

But if you get both front and rear axles from a single rear wheel W300 that would solve your problem, right? Or am I still missing something?
