I have bead blasted and primed the outside of my trans case on my WDX and I then intend to re-assemble with new gasgets and seals.
the problem is keeping grease and lube off the newly primed case, so it can be painted after reassembly.
I'll bolt the case to some sort of fixture for the reassembly but does anyone know how grease and lube would be cleaned off the primed case without taking off the primer?
I used a primer Paul in NY recommended; I can't remember now whether it was enamel or not. Paul will know.
Anyway, anyone have any thoughts?
thanks.
