Amp meter is pegged(cont.)

These are the directions that came with the wiring harness? The wire from the alter. goes to the ammature? I'm confused!!!
John, it looks like a 3 wire alternator?

I bought a Voltage meter(too many buttons) just need to figure out how to use it?

Any good books out there about how to use this meter?
