Ok, you're using an alternator for 1972 GM products. The altenator should have four terminal; Bat., "R", "F", "G". When you look at the rear or the alternator you will see the four terminals
The large terminal with a red plastic cylinder - From that terminal use a 10 gauge wire and run it to the negative side of the ammeter.
The other large termainal is used to run a ground wire to the engine or alternator mount.
For the "R" and "F" terminals you will need a femal socket from a GM car/truck the the same vintage to connect and run wires to the regulator's 2 & F terminals. R=2 and F=F
You will need to coneect the regulator's 4&3 terminal wires together and run a wire to the "I" or Ign. terminal on the ignition switch.
D663 regulator should work and should have terminals 4, 3, 2, F marked on it.
You will also need from a junk yard the terminal connector for the regulator also. Look for late sixties early seventies car/truck GM products and match the terminal number/letters on the units.
You should be able to use the vintage wiring harness with this setup.
