OT: Isuzu Pup diesel

Yesterday I saw a Pup diesel pickup. It had a bed that was longer than most older compact trucks.

It was noisy, probably slow. Slow and noisy is okay for me. Are the motors/transmissions dependable and reasonable to maintain? What kind of fuel economy do they get ?
