I think there would be plenty of steel left if you took out a little bit. If they had been engineered with so little extra stength, they would be breaking now. Anybody ever heard of a shock mount breakage problem in either FF's or M37's?
Lessee, taking 1/8" out of each hole in a 4" bracket..,. thats 6%. Conventional engineering is to make things 5oo percent stronger than they need to be....
Paul, with all of your home made brackets in your custom rigs.... I guess either you haven't needed shock mounts, or opening up the holes didn't occur to you?
