Typically, from what I have always read, a proportioning valve is not needed with a Drum rear and Disk front system. The inefficiencies of the drum rear will never lock up before the front disks. The proportion valve will not control pedal heigth, just flow/pressure between front and rear. I still believe he needs more fluid flowing when pedal is pushed, ie a larger bore master cylinder. Of course using PW Maple for brake fluid would solve all the problems right off LOL.
