The dual rear end housing is narrower than the single rear end. I went through this when I converted my '68 W300 from duals to singles. I have a sketch of the spacer I had made if you are interested in it. It requires some careful machining in order for it to be true. Can't have any vibration going on in a W300. :-) JH
