Unless your garage is very dry, you may get some surface rust flashing on the blasted steel sitting for a week, unprotected. If you can get PickleX-20, spray it on the blasted parts and after 3 minutes wipe dry. You then have total protection from rust and the steel surface is also prep'ed for paint. I always apply PickleX-20 to all my blasted parts. I get my PickleX-20 from www.autobodystore.com. It comes in a hand pump spray bottle or larger gallon size. It will take about 2 spray bottles for a complete PW. www.picklex20.com for the company web site
Then I shoot, PPG, MP-170 epoxy primer. This has to be top coated within 3 days. You can either shoot PPG, MP-182 surfacer primer, which will stop the 3 day clock running or you can immediatelly shoot PPG, MOA Hardened Frame Black. I use the MOA Hardened frame black on all frame, running gear, under side of fenders, ie; anything exposed to the road spray. MOA hardens with a satin black finish
