I'm not in a big hurry for a winch, just thought I'd ask. I don't even know what it takes to put one on a GMC deuce. The pto must go on the transfer case because there's no place for it on that hydramatic transmission. What I really need for that truck is a good tranny, but it seems all the GMC deuces I see sitting somewhere are sitting there because that stupid automatic tranny blew. The front band's broken on mine. It will move itself around slowly on level ground with much slippage, but that's it.
"Hern" sounds familiar. Was it a foundry? I'm thinking I've seen cast iron around Wallace that says "Hern Iron Works" on it. If you tell me a little more, I could ask the old-timers.
