Refurbishing Warn Hubs

Does anyone have experience refurbishing the finish on old Warn hubs? There is a parts truck near me with a set of the rare M-13 hubs. The hubs are heavily oxidized and tarnished. I'm not worried about fixing the mechanicals or polishing up the brass, but I think the housings are aluminum. I'm wondering if these housings can be polished or buffed out with good results. I can email a picture.
