Scary as heck. My property will be affected by this. I will not even be able to trim the underbrush on my property for fire control or other issues. Basically if a structure is not in the restricted zone at this time you will never be able to build it. My house in in the zone. So if I want to change my deck I can not. I am not sure if I will be able to do a direct replacement after the law is passed. I doing it this weekend.
We have a very liberal left wing county comissioner who is pushing this. The interesting part is that it will only affect the rural and suburban areas and not the city/urban areas. It is part of what they call growth management. Of course the Seattle urban area tends to be very environmental and liberal and see nothing wrong with dumping on the suburban/ rural areas that tend to be conservative. They will not have to pay any price of this "law" their property will not be affected at all. But they have the numbers to get it passed. By the way there is no comphensation to the affected land owners.
The scary part of this is that the county comissioner is running for govener. Basically only Seattle and the other urban areas in western washington will vote for him but that is often enough to carry the day.
