HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm in the process of replacing the manifolds on my 230, and have had no problems getting the manifold studs out of the block. That is.....until the very last one. It broke off flush with the block. So I took my normal route, days of soaking with gibbs, a little heat with the torch, and then an easy out. Nothing has budged. And what is left of the stud is really getting chewed up. I think if I haven't already started to dig into the threads of the hole I will if I continue on my current course. Is it time to just call it a loss, and drill and tap the hole to a larger size? I'm afraid of drilling the hole by hand for fear of it not being square. This is the one thing getting in the way of reassembly. I'll send some pics of my engine when its all back together. Over the past two weeks I think I have single-handedly kept langdon's in business....got the headers, dual carb intake, carter-webers, gm hei conversion......the works!
Any advice would really help!
Thanks, Dave
